What is this braxton hicks..labor..just trying to make me lose my mind!!!

Since last night, I have been having pain in my stomach like cramps but also pain in my back. I couldn't sleep a wink, and in fact got up at 4:30 to take a shower just in case this was it. It went on until about 10:00am this morning and now has calmed down. Well, I didn't realize how much I feared going into labor until last night. I am a scheduled C-Section due to my Multiple Sclerosis and on the advice of my doctor, I need to avoid laboring and delivering vaginally in order to reduce my risks of a relapse after delivery. This is making me crazy. Is craziness enough of a medical reason to call it a day and order a C-Section like STAT!! Since this is my first baby, and I haven't had any braxton hicks before maybe that's all this is. How would I know? How does any woman know? Today is Saturday and Thursday seems like a lifetime away.
